We are all influenced by the media and advertising. What types of advertising campaigns are most effective on you personally? Cite specific examples. What rhetorical devices do they use, and why do you think they are so effective? It does not have to be just TV.. we are talking all Advertising.

I think those marketing campaigns are the best. Those at the roadside, where they do something innovative, creative, and out of the box. Like I saw this marketing campaign in the midst of a busy town. They were playing some games where some people try to hit bulleye. If they score, a girl would drop into the water.

It attracted quite a big crowd. Probably because of the girls but I guess the crowd wants to know what is it all about too.

Honestly, just take what you need to get your degree. Your schooling is going to help you get a job, if that’s what you want. You are definitely going to learn from your classes, but from my experience you will learn far more from your own experiences.

What I’m saying is this:
Get your degree to help you get a job, but use the internet and get all the experience you can for you real "education". People coming straight out of school tend to be real green

That’s assuming you want a job, of course. I learned marketing and I began making my living from home using the internet. No more jobs, bosses, etc. for me. The freedom is wonderful, and the money is just as sweet!

What is the difference between a CMS and a Framework?

I’ve been reading about Drupal and Joomla and see them referred to as a CMS. Sometimes they are also called a framework, but they don’t seem the same as other frameworks like Rails and Zend. Can someone explain the difference between the two terms? Which is correct for Drupal and Joomla?

I’m no developer, so someone else may be able to better explain, but here’s what I understand:

Drupal and Joomla are considered a CMS because they can be installed and ready to go virtually out of the box with a functional website and admin area to create dynamic pages. Hence the CMS attribution. Rails and Zend on the other hand are not "websites out of the box" and require you to work within the framework to create a CMS or web application.

Drupal and Joomla are sometimes called frameworks because you can bypass the CMS items such as creating pages etc and just use the core code base for user registration and such then develop custom code (modules, web apps etc) that tap into the database using the framework they already have.

NEGATIVE! The robot or "spider" that they use to crawl your site will post ads that are only relevant to the content. Although, you could put in one small area a blurb about cars and tell the bot to only crawl that area for ad content. Why would you do that anyway? People looking for info about movies will generally not click ads about cars. If you want ads about cars, build a website about them. You will get WAY more clicks.
