Oh God, I’m one of those crazy YouTube posters… Kill me now.
…Whatever ‘important’ happens to mean to you. Plus, whenever you want to be both amused and informed, there’s Charlie Brooker, This Week and so on to put some personality into the latest happenings, which again, is subject to our scrutiny.
Completely securing anything is probably impossible, but again, it’s about balance; Reality vs Idealism. I never totally trust anything; but the BBC comes close because I’m confident it’s the most reliable source of information available by some margin.
…of quality in its journalism, but with no one to answer to but the public, there is little reason for it to misrepresent anything. It isn’t run by the government, but by the BBC Trust; which, upon some sort of abuse (see Feb 2008 scandal), will be held to account. On balance, I find the BBC News to be less sensationalistic, less ‘sexed-up’, accountable to us &, above all, without private interest. The issues they report on aren’t always the most exciting, but at least they are ‘important’.
Well, it’s about balance really. Truly, you’ll never actually know everything, and by that nature, there is room for corruption, deception and abuse. But, you can’t go about trusting no one, because that would make knowing about current affairs and the world around us rather more difficult than I would like. You have to consider agendas as well. Many, if not all, privately and commercially funded channels are under the thumb of those sponsors. True, the BBC does get a range…
you TRUST the bbc?
sorry but.. HAHAHAHAHA
@danisfast Why, on Charlie Brooker videos is there always one person who acts like him. Get his balls off your chin.
Tgis is why I watch the BBC. The licence is well worth it to break away from the capitalistic shite we are inevitably drowned i almost everywhere else. Even when we’re not, wenver quite know. At least I can trust the BBC. Sky News? Stop scaring everybody with dramatic headlines and bright colours, get those tits out of my face and give at least something resembling what a real news channel should look like…
HAHA reflex action LOL!
Why dont you try some ‘reasearch’ before you spout sladerous crap like that out of your mouth.
wow, thats pretty eye opening. :O
This is missing the cheese pull
Your name aptly describes you and your shambolic views. Well done.
FFFFFFFFFFUUUUU
is that noel fielding?
What the fuck are you basing that on? This is CHARLIE BROOKER, someone who has always worked in the media and was inherently disgusted by what he found in the industry. Screenwipe was his answer to try and educate people on what everyone was seeing on the popular channels (think like Bill Hicks). I mean come on, you’re are talking like he is Piers fucking Morgan.
He reminds me of Alan Moore, the Ad exec, Northampton accent anyway…………..
after seeing the programme on 02/01/09, he seems like a stiff toff fuck who knows shit all about britain other than his cunt-studded palace in belgravia. I can guarantee you now, his knowledge of the working class, is… ‘the north’ and maybe the bloke who cater’d his fancy do’s where his girlfriend who only loves his money, and connections, gets it off with every other bloke who has a bigger penis than him… argh, I dont have to go on.
Sad thing is what he says about the Media is true.
Great, highly underrated show.
Thank you, that was bugging me. He sounds a lot like somegreybloke, it might even be him.
you can’t trust someone whos guilty of phonein scandals, they make bad role models
so what bbc, crush osbournes career at bias question time,we’re still not voting for gordon brown
He sounds like thatgreybloke.
Screenwipe is a really good show (and essential for media students).
I think this is true about advertising…
yaaay. He is my birthday twin!
