from a musical standpoint: sweeeeeeeeeeet!!!!!

hahaha, i think the way they play it is key of C??, am i right or wrong? =D
The song is called …
The song is called “give him praise” anyone else hearing this SRV tone? Killer, but the tone of the bass during the solo wasn’t that great imo
This song has a less chill band of gypsies vibe. Reminds me of SRV covering Jimi
I’m sure he’s …
I’m sure he’s really “good” at bass, but for me that solo was a total yawn fest, come to think about it, this entire “blues jam” is so generic, vapid and soulless that nothing really stands out to me as “good”. I’ll stick with my Jeff Beck records for instrumental guitar music that actually touches me emotionally.
I agree totally, …
I agree totally, sick of bass shredders
…and still uses …
…and still uses the boss =]
i just saw him 3 …
i just saw him 3 weeks ago and he still uses a pod…
I also get where …
I also get where you are coming from, but Realize (most) tone is opion, if he likes it good for him, he saved him self 1000’s of $, but it dont sound the same by any meens. The dynamic range is in the toilet, your EQ dont react like it should, I have MANY reasons. But hey I LOVE the vox wah wah some people like the cry baby, its all opion (thank ya for bein mature and not just cusing “to” me) =)
All my rants below …
All my rants below were supposed to be to highsociey1. You have to read them from the last one to the first. I hope this sheds light for everyone. I am not an expert or claiming to be. Just want to help open others minds to the pod. If I had the money, there would be a Bogner, Soldano, and a Vox Ac-30 in my living room! I developed a taste for boutique high dollar true bypass pedals but you have to make family and kids a priority sometimes. I would love to have all fulltone and keeley products!
he stock presets …
he stock presets are not the greatest, but like any real amp you have to work with it to get the sweet spot. For what is in the pod X3 live, amp models, effects, dual amps, cab and mic selections, bass amps, mic preamps, acoutic tayloring, wah pedals, nothing can touch this for $500. At church they freak out at how good it sounds. an you imagine being able to run a Soldano and Bogner at the same time? How about a Vox Ac30 and a marshall plexi.
I went in the …
I went in the studio a few months ago and used amp farm, a line 6 product. You can listen to the recordings and would think I used a real Soldano amp rig. I was amazed and so pleased with the sound. I was only gonna use it as a rough track and come back with my guitar amp but didn’t have to. As I said before, the important thing to remember and wrap your head around is this is a mic’ed amp simulator. And the pod responds really well to backing off the volume knob and even using outboard pedals.
I understand where …
I understand where you are coming from. The thing that most people don’t get is the pod recreates what the amp sounds mic’ed up. Have you ever heard your guitar rig thru the p.a. system. It doesn’t sound like what is coming thru your amp. Lincoln says the only real place to test this out is in the studio where you can’t hear your amp in the control room. He has done this lots of times and even has friends whose amps where used by line 6 to model them.
I would prefer to …
I would prefer to listen to a sweet pocket groove with feel than bass shredding… but that’s just me.
Man, Norm Stockton …
Man, Norm Stockton is the man! And he plays some killer MTDs, his Jazz and 535s are incredible!
he sues custom …
he sues custom patches on his POD….I wonder where he gets em.
its all good man no …
its all good man no big deal, all opinoin
I would prefer to …
I would prefer to use extra pedals and equipment rather than one floor processor, but I can’t afford the money to replace everything I use the POD for
I woulod beg to …
I woulod beg to disgree, there is not the dymaic range or the same warmth, but hey…. its all opion, some people just arent gear freaks, I on the other hand am VERRY much so, but i got no problem with him useing a POD (I never would though)
He uses an X3.
He uses an X3.
A POD is a …
A POD is a professional tool that replaces the need for separate pedals and effects in a very satisfactory fashion. I’ve used it live and it will and does do the job that I would need $30,000 of equipment to do.
