not necessarily singing talent. you can have an idol that is completely inept at singing, but dances like michael jackson. or the other way around.
some are better than others, but everyone has at least something to show that an average person doesn’t.
their popularity is proportional to their talents. an idol that can sing and dance and act and everything else is gonna become rain, and someone who can do only one thing is just gonna be in a group.

@sparklop Yes, Koreans are blaming taiji for this ‘idolized’ K-pop scene becuz of the fact that he had gigantic amount of influence over K-pop. BUT, I think it is not his fault at all, it just that some of the major companies picked up few of the elements from taiji boys and used them to commercialize. And taiji himself said he didn’t intend to make K-pop scene like this.Seotaiji is very cautious about criticizing other musicians and he is humble like you cannot ever imagine.
The blu-ray/dvd release of this concert is phenomenal. It features the two remastered original and encore performance. Three unaired additional tracks including F.M Business, Zero, and Beyond The Encore were also included. Unfortunately only 15000 limited copies were made.

I mean there many coincidences in his songs, previous albums and concepts to not be related. By my own speculation he sold his own soul at a very young age.
True, but he makes music because he loves music and nothing else. He doesn’t spit out albums like other people, it takes him YEARS before another album comes out. he switches genres on every single album. He should be richer, but he cares purely about music and honestly doesn’t seem like he cares for much else (aka wealth)
I’d just like to say. I love Kpop. I love SNSD and DBSK. But still. They were trained from young teenagers. So they are basically brainwashed to dance, sing, and act. It is natural talent programmed to do things in a certain way. SM is nothing but greedy. JYP needs work. Loen Ent. is decent. But this guy, Seo Taiji. He worked to his fame all by himself. He DROPPED out of high school and still succeeded cause he is a genius. Kill not necessarily the Pop idol but the label that made them that way.

sure, some kpoppers are better than the others, some songs are sterile, but there’s not a single group or a singer that’s unable to sing and/or dance.
there are countless bands and groups, not all of them can be perfect, but they stil have their fans, and they love making music.
but there are also many great artists, such as rain and g-dragon, that are going to be written in history right next to seo taiji.
